THE
DANCE SCHOOL
Mara Terzi’s school was
born 17 years ago in Milan. The activity carried out in Via Fauché,
9 (Corso Sempione) ranges over classical dance, flamenco,
modern-jazz and ballroom dances.
Mara Terzi’s didactic and artistic direction guarantees the quality
and the professionalism of the teaching staff. The school not only offers
the opportunity to frequent the courses but also works as a meeting point,
a possibility of knowing people, comparing oneself and approaching other cultures
through the dance.
“Let’s
Dance”,
the 25- videos collection published by Fabbri
Editori, that in its three editions in Italy,
Spain and Portugal has sold more than 2.000.000 copies, is the result
of a great number of years that Mara Terzi has dedicated to teaching.
The experience, the passion and the desire to make the approach to dancing
as much stimulating as possible have enabled Mara Terzi to create her own
didactic method based on the principle that dancing is open to everybody and
belongs to men and their origins as a primordial and inseparable element.
The initiatives encouraged by the school go from the recurring meetings with
guest teachers (Isabella Glowacka,
headmistress of the Lodz Opera school for classical dance, Elsa
Piperno for contemporary dance, Yousry
Sharif for middle Eastern dance, Antonio
Canales for Flamenco) to the organization of performances
in which the most promising students can face an audience in a theatre experience.
Recently a group risen in the bosom of the school and formed of ten elements
has been formed and it has been working for a year and a half with remarkable
success thanks to the show “Fiesta Flamenca”.
For the students it is possible to choose the most convenient time to attend
the lessons and everybody, the beginner as well as the more experienced dancer,
can feel at ease in such a cosy and informal place.
